Bringing confidence to a new generation

The 3rd PCH Capacity Building Leadership Program, a development program established and run by Shamtse (a Qinghai based NPO) and funded by PCH, is nearing completion. 25 students were selected for this 6 month university level program based on their motivation and desire to make help rural poor communities in Qinghai Province. This requires them to ultimately work closely with local village leadership.

The training introduces students to poverty alleviation project analysis and how to identify and make change happen. Topics cover needs assessment, budget preparation, proposal writing, how to secure funding, and then how to program manage the implementation. The current participants have demonstrated a high interest in this training and have all designed and recently submitted their own project proposals as part of their overall assessment – some of which will be presented by Shamtse to Captivating International in the hope funding can be secured. Stay tuned for some of these projects in future.

PCH-01“My name is Dorjye Drolma. I was very lucky to be one of PCH Capacity Training Participants. During the training I enjoyed the class very much and I am happy that I could hopefully become of help to people from my own village if my project proposal gets funding. Particularly I liked the part to work on the problem tree and the objective tree to find out the difficulties that people from my village face and to design feasible solution to help them resolving the problems. This training is very practical and useful that I could not get related knowledge and experience from school. I hope I can be a good example to my little sister so that more and more girls from my village become confident and well respected in the future. Thanks again to PCH & Captivating International for supporting this program, and appreciation to Shamtse Charity, equipping girls and women in Qinghai areas with skills and education.”
