Gaining Confidence while Learning

Wang XianLing is one of the many students who are able to continue their studies through our One More Year Scholarship Program. This is her story.

It is a pleasure to write you, I had a great time at school and it is now the second month of the new term. Thank you very much for your financial support, it is this support that allows me to study without worries. I would like to share with you my learnings in the last semester and some recent changes to my school life in this letter.

We are the first group of students in Guizhou Province to take the “New College Entrance Examination.” The subjects I chose were Physics, Chemistry, and Geography. These three subjects were interesting to me. Re-selection of subjects also means that we are divided into classes again. In fact, I am not very suitable for the current school life. I was afraid to communicate with the people around me.

One night I couldn’t sleep, and I was thinking: In the next two semesters or so, I can’t not communicate with my classmates, and I can’t be alone every time, so why don’t I try to communicating with them? So, the next day I started to talk to my classmates. Although I am still a little shy, I can feel that the classmate in Class 18 are very kind. Some classmates also observed my introversion and wrote me a small note to encourage me to communicate and express myself more. Not only the classmates, but the teachers in Class 18 are also friendly and excellent teachers.

My favorite is Teacher Zhang, who teaches mathematics. She always talks about the simplest method, which is easy to understand. There is also Ms. Ji, who teaches Chinese. She is a teacher that keeps up with the trend. During the holidays, she plays games in class, gives us suggestions of good books, and tells us a lot of life lessons. The enthusiasm of the teachers and classmates made me quickly adapt to life in Class 18.

Thank you so much for helping me today so that I can study here without worry. All I can do now is study hard and live well. Everyone has their own dreams. My dream is very simple. It is to be admitted to Shenzhen University.

I will always remember your kindness in my heart. In the future, when I have the ability, I will pass the love on.

Thank you!

Thank you to ZURU for sponsoring our students.
