This month [July 2017], three girls from Project Eden who have been studying at the School of Electronics and Technology of Dongguan, have finished all their school-based courses and will be starting a one-year internship after this summer on-track to graduate in June 2018. Through the Captivating Project Eden schooling program, we have been thrilled to see their growth and development over the years thanks to lots of hard work by them, as well as amazing support from the team at Project Eden. Our thanks also to their dedicated sponsors and supporters, and of course Dockpo and the SGVTS team where the girls first got their chance at a new life several years ago now. Winter vacation, for the vast majority of students is a good time to rest, sleep late, and go shopping. But for Eden girls, the 20 days of work in a Dongguan Electronics manufacturing plant was definitely a brand new challenge. The girls spent 10-12 hours a day in the repetitive line of work. This was something that they have never ever experienced before.

On the way back home all we talked about was what happened in the rolling place and we compared pain, bumps and bruises. When we see the rainbow, we forget what we have experienced before. The same is true of life; we fall and then get up. No matter what we do, we cannot be afraid of failure. Only through personal practice and hard work can we taste the joy of success! Roller skating left us so happy. Laughter is like a language and without any translation can move each other's heart.

What a happy Christmas! Christmas 2016, was a happy day; thinking of it, our hearts bloom in brilliant flowers, happy and excited! On Christmas day, the weather was chilly, but it never stopped Christmas from coming.

Shortly after the school year ends in mid-July, our students head home for a short summer break. It’s a little teary, because we grow to love each of them. We miss each of the girls dearly and count down the days until we see them again.
