Today marks my 220th day serving as a volunteer teacher in the Daliang Mountain area. During this time, I have come into contact with a new field – preschool education. Before this, I had only heard about it and assumed it was simply about keeping children entertained and preventing them from crying. However, I’ve realized that early education plays a critical role in a child’s development. Teaching kids topics like language, social science, art, and health helps develop their positive behavior, learning, and lifestyle habits before entering elementary school. This approach lays a solid foundation for future growth in their primary education.
This experience taught me a lot – from knowing nothing about preschoolers to growing alongside my students. I brought them simple knowledge, and they now bring me endless happiness.
Being able to go to school and get an education is important for the future of these children. They live a very simple and basic life and work very hard to support their daily needs. When they have teachers at school who believe in them and help them see their full potential, it makes all the difference.
