China’s Chicken & Pig Farming Program is off to a Great Start

We have officially commenced our Chicken & Pig Farming Program for a 6-8 month long chicken and pig-rearing project for 180 women in Sichuan Province, China.

A Group Orientation of Men and Women

During the distribution of chicken and pigs

Our participants carried children on their backs while they lined up to receive healthy chicks and piglets. They were excited as they embarked on this journey towards a brighter future. Their faces were filled with joy and anticipation as they listened to the training session on how they could take good care of their pigs and chickens for their business. The training program is crafted to equip them with the necessary tools, knowledge, and assistance to effectively raise poultry and livestock. This endeavor not only seeks to better their quality of life but also to promote food security and encourage sustainable farming methods in their local areas.

Five households however withdrew from the project due to some unforeseen circumstances. Despite this, the majority of the participants were able to attend the training so our implementing team in China is focusing their efforts on raising the 175 households who have committed to the project.

Our team will continue to monitor and report on the progress and experiences of the participating families in the coming months. Stay tuned for updates on the successful implementation of these hopeful and helpful chicken and pig-rearing projects that are already off to a great start.
