The mother of these sisters works as a prostitute in the Philippines. When their mother started working at night time, she would usually ask one of her male friends to watch her kids. That man started abusing both girls repeatedly. Because of this, the two girls would usually sneak out of their house at night time and walk around the city.

Trafficking happens in plain sight and is very deceptive to women and girls who fall prey to the lies used by brothel owners and traffickers. A Forever Family for Little Joel

Little Joel became an orphan when his mother passed away but was recently adopted by his step grandmother, Nyanchoka. He is four years old and is expected to start school next year. Nyanchoka has been living alone since her husband died. Children's Day Celebration Bonfire Fun

The annual Children's Day Celebration brings an atmosphere of holiday happiness everywhere on the campus at Seng Girls Vocational Training School (SGVTS). Teachers and students worked together to gather the firewood. The fire was big and strong. Teachers and students formed a circle and began to do Guozhuang dance. This year's Children's Day ended in a happy Guozhuang dance!

Pursuing Dreams through Education

Coming from extremely impoverished families, education has only been a far-fetched dream for most of the women and girls in The Blessed Project in the Philippines. They were deprived of education because of lack of financial capacity, and were forced to work – mostly in the commercial sex industry – even at a young age.
