ABOUT THE PHOTOBOOK

Freedom, in their own words.

What does freedom mean when you’ve experienced poverty, inequality, exploitation, or limited opportunity?

We asked women and children connected to Captivating’s programs in Nepal, the Philippines, and China to share what freedom means to them.

Their answers are simple, personal, and powerful. For some, freedom means an education. For others, earning their own income, making their own choices, feeling safe, or simply having hope for what comes next.

What Freedom Means to Me brings these voices together through photography and personal reflections, offering a glimpse into what freedom looks like through their eyes.

Help create more opportunities for freedom.

Captivating International is a nonprofit working alongside local communities in Nepal, the Philippines, and China to prevent human trafficking, protect children from online sexual exploitation, and break generational poverty—by empowering women, educating children, and elevating communities.
