Big Thank you to the 20 plus runners that participated in the 1st Annual Beach Race to Benefit Captivating International!

Have you ever joined in a Beach Run before?  At a Shenzhen Beach in Summer, well, this is what comes to your mind –  Hot, hot, hot!  Even still, this was not a deterrent to determined Shenzhen runners.  20 plus runners got up at 5:45am, put on their runners and a few other accessories, and did it for Captivating!  Thanks to the amazing organizing effort of Greg Shultheis and his team (the same group behind Shenzhen’s 10km Midnight Race November of each year) June 1st saw a perfect day’s event (although a bit hot) and a great day of activity for all involved.  Thanks to all runner and donors, they were able to raise RMB 5,060 for Captivating International.

P.S – it’s worth mentioning that 4 years ago Greg first had the idea of doing a midnight 10km race.  16 people did it that first year.  This November (the 5th year of the race) we are expecting 200 runners.  So, who knows how many runners will be doing the beach run in the years to come. 🙂

Congrats to the winners:
Women’s 3km
1. Roxie Lewin and Amanda Chura – 16m 34s
Men’s 3km
1. Ben Hockley – 12m 28s
Women’s 6km
1. Claire Taylor – 27m 08s
Men’s 6km
1. Alan Cuddihy – 25m 06s
After the race food, a few drinks, and the Slip N Slide were enjoyed by everyone.  Thank you Barefoot Beach Bar, Greg and your team for making this happen.  Captivating is so honored to have such wonderful support.
