Mandeep (name changed for protection and privacy) had been through lots of hardships since she was a child - from losing her father, being abandoned, and taking on different jobs. She was found by our partner's staff sitting on a bridge, distressed and alone.

Helping the Helpless during the Pandemic

One of the key objectives of the 3 Angels Community Radio (3ACR) is to inform the public and raise awareness on relevant issues, particularly human trafficking. This holds true even when the COVID-19 pandemic struck the country. During the pandemic crisis, they were able to relay reliable information from the World Health Organization while maintaining most of their regular programming. One of the staff shares what else the team have been able to do during this crisis.

Fake Job Offer

Padmini (name changed for privacy and protection), 20, was spotted by our 3 Angels Nepal monitoring staff while doing their routine checks around the bus station. They saw her holding hands with a man but she seemed reluctant to go with him. Upon inquiry, they found out that Padmini didn’t know the man, so she was brought to a transit home where she shared her story.

Food Relief for 30 Women in the My Business My Freedom Program

Our partner, 3 Angels Nepal, have been in contact with the beneficiaries of My Business My Freedom Program and found a number of them who were struggling with food supply due to the current lockdown.

Sowing Seeds of Character

Our partner 3 Angels Nepal, carried out 23 Hamro Abhiyan Anti-Trafficking Awareness Programs throughout Nepal during the first quarter this year. These programs reached a total of 1,989 students who were all very keen to learn new things regarding human trafficking. Their responses to the program were positive and inspiring.

A Future for Her Children

Yam Rana was married 13 years ago and has a daughter and a son. She and her husband struggled to provide for their family which meant they could not send their children to school. She heard about the My Business My Freedom Program and attended an orientation session. This was an opportunity she knew would help her to grow an income and be able to give her children an education.
