Opening Up Possibilities for Women in the Philippines

The feeling of not being able to provide for her children was what drove Erlinda to start her own Sari-Sari Store (a small grocery store beside her home). She struggled to grow her business until she joined Honor 1000 Movement's Microfinance Project in 2012.

Restoration and Dignity

The annual average increase of prostituted children in the Philippines is 3,266 children per year. Tragically, the Philippines ranks fourth in the world in terms of countries with the highest number of prostituted children (humantrafficking.org Philippines). It’s effect on the innocence of impoverished children is heart-breaking.

Dedication to Protect Children

Our 2019/2020 project plan is to reach students in two of the known trafficking hotspots in the Philippines and expand throughout other regions as the year continues. In total, we aim to reach 7,800 students. We continue to hear stories about exploitation and abuse from students. We cannot and will not stop this fight to protect children from cybersex crimes.

Stopping Cybersex Crime in the Philippines

With the start of the new academic year in the Philippines, our partner, Honor 1000 Movement have once again started the Stop Cybersex program in public schools. This is an important strategy to trafficking prevention. With the Philippines being 1st in the world for cybersex crime, this is a vital part of what we do.

Safe Place for Two Sisters

The mother of these sisters works as a prostitute in the Philippines. When their mother started working at night time, she would usually ask one of her male friends to watch her kids. That man started abusing both girls repeatedly. Because of this, the two girls would usually sneak out of their house at night time and walk around the city.

Microloans: Moving Families Towards Sustainable Living

The Honor 1000 Microfinance Program not only aims to provide assistance to impoverished yet determined mothers who wish to start their own small business, but works to see them succeed and improve their lives. This helps reduce the risk of being lured into the world of trafficking and cybersex to gain income.

Pursuing Dreams through Education

Coming from extremely impoverished families, education has only been a far-fetched dream for most of the women and girls in The Blessed Project in the Philippines. They were deprived of education because of lack of financial capacity, and were forced to work – mostly in the commercial sex industry – even at a young age.
