The feeling of not being able to provide for her children was what drove Erlinda to start her own Sari-Sari Store (a small grocery store beside her home). She struggled to grow her business until she joined Honor 1000 Movement's Microfinance Project in 2012.

Tragically, the Philippines ranks fourth in the world in terms of countries with the highest number of prostituted children (humantrafficking.org Philippines). It’s effect on the innocence of impoverished children is heart-breaking.

Our 2019/2020 project plan is to reach students in two of the known trafficking hotspots in the Philippines and expand throughout other regions as the year continues. In total, we aim to reach 7,800 students. We continue to hear stories about exploitation and abuse from students. We cannot and will not stop this fight to protect children from cybersex crimes.

That man started abusing both girls repeatedly. Because of this, the two girls would usually sneak out of their house at night time and walk around the city.

Coming from extremely impoverished families, education has only been a far-fetched dream for most of the women and girls in The Blessed Project in the Philippines. They were deprived of education because of lack of financial capacity, and were forced to work – mostly in the commercial sex industry – even at a young age.
