Wennie's Growing Businesses

Wennie joined the the Honor 1000 Microfinance project in 2017 because, being able to give her three small children a good education was important to her. She didn't want the temptation of trafficking and cyber crime to lure herself or her children as a way to earn money. She knew she was not financially stable enough and worried what the future would be for her children. A microloan from the Honor 1000 Microfinance project was just what she needed.

Employment for Rehabilitated Women

The Blessed Project's Sewing Enterprise in the Philippines focuses on two core objectives: (1) sustainability and (2) skills training to prepare young women for employment. Jelyn’s story is just one of the many success stories the program has witnessed and wishes to witness as this social enterprise grows.

Seeking Justice Against Perpetrator

Most victims of cybersex are young children who aren't even aware that they are being abused. The work that our partners do is crucial in coming alongside them in realizing they are being abused and that there is help. The Blessed Project exists to help rehabilitate young women and girls who have fallen prey to traffickers and the online world of cybersex.

Opening Up Possibilities for Women in the Philippines

The feeling of not being able to provide for her children was what drove Erlinda to start her own Sari-Sari Store (a small grocery store beside her home). She struggled to grow her business until she joined Honor 1000 Movement's Microfinance Project in 2012.

Restoration and Dignity

The annual average increase of prostituted children in the Philippines is 3,266 children per year. Tragically, the Philippines ranks fourth in the world in terms of countries with the highest number of prostituted children (humantrafficking.org Philippines). It’s effect on the innocence of impoverished children is heart-breaking.

Dedication to Protect Children

Our 2019/2020 project plan is to reach students in two of the known trafficking hotspots in the Philippines and expand throughout other regions as the year continues. In total, we aim to reach 7,800 students. We continue to hear stories about exploitation and abuse from students. We cannot and will not stop this fight to protect children from cybersex crimes.

Addressing Extreme Poverty

Maricel is one of the young women who joined Honor 1000's Microfinance Program recently. Along with 30% of the population of the Philippines, she was poor and had a bleak future. She was determined to help her husband in building a better future.
