GOAL: 1,000 children on their way to a poverty free future

We can start 1,000 children on their way to a poverty free future…can you help?

Following the success of our poverty reduction program in the earthquake damaged remote region of Sichuan Province, China, 500 children are now on their journey towards a poverty-free future thanks to ongoing income that will come from their very own Walnut Plantations.

Now we have MANY MORE VILLAGES asking for our help.  So, we have set a bold target for our next planting season (Jan-Mar 2011) to end poverty for 1,000 children and their families.  We’d love to hear your ideas on how we can make this happen?

The Need:

500 families are asking for our help.  It only costs US$200 to supply 100 walnut saplings to each family – enough to end poverty for this family in the future.  This investment also includes 5 years of training and technical support to ensure best yields in the future.

This can be achieved as follows:

• 2 organizations to each sponsor 100 families ($20,000).
• 2 groups/clubs to each sponsor 50 families ($10,000)
• 3 people to each sponsor 25 families ($5,000)
• 5 people to each sponsor 10 families ($2,000)
• 10 people to each sponsor 5 families ($1,000)
• 25 people to each sponsor 1 family ($200)
