Our Chicken Farming Program aims to help families increase their financial income to support their children’s education and increase their quality of life. Our goal is to help families earn additional CNY 3,000 – 6,000 (UDS 420 – 840) annually through raising chickens.

We have helped numerous families in the past and we always find it fascinating how different households go through similar situations despite never meeting each other. Two of the families we helped were of Qiesha Momuzuo (46) and Biji Mesezha (53). Both families live in a house that was constructed through the help of the government. Both houses stood on a huge farm land, making the two families’ sources of income in education.

In Qiesha’s farmland, they grow potatoes, buckwheat, oats and corn. They also raise livestock like cows, pigs, and chickens—these crops and animals help yield CNY 30,000 annually (USD). Her first born is married and she is supporting three more children. When we visited Qiesha’s home, we learned that the chickens she got from us will be sold to cover her children’s school expenses and household improvements for their improved quality of life. Her children are well-behaved and her home has a warm atmosphere.

Like Qiesha, Biji’s first born is already married—leaving her with one more son to support his schooling. They grow the same crops in Qiesha’s farmland; they also have one horse, a cow, and ten pigs—making CNY 25,000 (USD) annually. Recently, she had successfully raised 15 chickens from our project. Qeisha is immensely grateful for our help.

We are happy to have helped both women, as they displayed attentiveness and enthusiasm with our help. We know our chickens are in good hands, and we cannot wait for them to enjoy their better lives with their loved ones.
