The Husky Energy Tailoring Skills Program for Women (HET) provides sewing and life skills training to women aged 20–35 from remote areas in Qinghai Province each year. We target those undereducated to gain tailoring skills, basic literacy, and money management skills over three months.
Our training sessions would not be possible without Carrie, our project manager. She shares a piece of her perspective in the event through a letter.

Dear Leaders of the Supporting Organizations, Training Team Leaders, and All Faculty Members,
At this important stage of our training program, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and share my experience with you as the head of this women’s training course.
Since the start of the program, the trainees have systematically studied two major course modules: Principles of Pattern Design and Techniques of Garment Cutting. Thanks to a solid foundation that we laid together earlier, they have been able to maintain a steady learning pace to absorb new knowledge effectively, as they progress to more advanced parts of the curriculum.
It is worth highlighting that while there are certain differences in the academic background and learning abilities among the trainees, our instructors have consistently adopted differentiated teaching strategies, such as “one-on-one Q&A sessions” and tiered case studies, to ensure that every participant can achieve breakthrough progress based on their own pace.
The instructors’ professionalism and dedication are not only evident during classroom teaching but also reflected in their willingness to extend their teaching and consultation hours after class. Their sense of responsibility—”leaving no one behind”—has deeply touched us all.

Looking at the entire training project, every aspect, from hardware support to resource investment, our training team demonstrated efficiency, thoughtfulness, and genuine care in the following aspects:
- Equipment Management: A full set of modern cutting equipment was installed promptly, ensuring seamless integration between technical instruction and practical application.
- Material Supply: High-quality fabrics were provided consistently in a diverse range, fully meeting the operational needs of different design themes.
- Learning Environment: The training venue was well-organized into functional zones, and teaching materials were updated in real-time to create an immersive learning environment.
Every detail reflects the supporters’ high regard for talent cultivation and serves as a strong pillar for us to wholeheartedly focus on our studies.
Even more encouraging is the strong sense of motivation shown by all the trainees. In-class discussions are lively, and after class, we voluntarily organize study groups to tackle technical challenges through collaboration.
Our instructors have praised the students for their “exceptional classroom focus and outstanding task completion quality,” and the student representatives solemnly pledged at the weekly meeting that “we will transform our learning into tangible outcomes and contribute high-quality work to meet industry standards.”
This spirit of determination stems not only from the trainees’ self-drive but also from the project’s ability to unlock their potential. A science-oriented curriculum design makes the growth path more visible, partnered with warm support—the system only gives the participants more courage to push past their limits.
Here, once again, please accept our sincere thanks for your generous support!
In the future, we will continue to uphold a spirit of diligence and progress, solidifying our participants’ skills and producing innovative results, always staying true to our original aspiration of “empowering the industry with what we have learned.
