Our One Hope Microfinance Program’s main mission is to protect vulnerable women from the threat of sexual exploitation by providing loans for microentrepreneurship. This way, they have the chance to elevate their living standards and foster positive change in their communities.

To avail of the loan, each beneficiary will be a part of a fellowship group where they must commit to community-building activities and weekly payments. They will start at PHP 6,000 (USD 102) and will increase by increments of PHP 3,000 (USD 51) after full payment. The maximum amount loanable is Php 30,000 (USD 508).

Perlita, a mother of six, is one of our recent beneficiaries. When she joined OH, she knew exactly what she wanted to do. With the initial PHP 6,000 loan, she bought a used sewing machine to make the most out of her sewing skills. She made rags and bedsheets to sell in her community, allowing her to save and repay the loan on time. Later, she was able to buy a second sewing machine to increase her production and double her income!

As she sees the obvious change that OH has made to her life, she cannot help but express her heartfelt gratitude to our program. Not only did it help her business grow, but it has also helped her build a habit of saving. Today, she has about PHP 9,000 (USD 153) in savings—funds that will surely help her handle unexpected expenses in the future.
