Our Anti-Human Trafficking Monitoring Stations (AHT) in Nepal not only aim to intercept potential victims at Nepal-Indian borders, we also make make an effort to spread awareness in these communities through our award-winning Hamro Abhiyan Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Program.
Hamro Abhiyan AHT aims to foster better coordination and collaboration with teachers and police officers. Why teachers? Because they are the ones who look after children outside their homes. We aim to equip them with the knowledge and skills to identify potential trafficking situations and develop plans for further action within their school. Students also participate in our activities designed for quick comprehension and retention.
During the last quarter of 2025, our team of seven traveled to Chitwan district to conduct this awareness campaign at Jana Adarsha Multiple Campus. 85 students participated in the program. Location matters to programs like this. During this session, we held it at a public center to ensure greater visibility and community participation. That way, the program is not only available to students and teaching staff, but also to nearby residents and community members. Students and local residents actively asked questions and shared personal experiences, providing valuable insights into their existing local challenges.
We are glad that our participants displayed high levels of engagement and appreciation for the efforts of our team. As we left, we felt a subtle triumph in sharing potentially life-saving knowledge with our participants’ minds.
