110 Waterproof Tarpaulins provided to Kathmandu Slum Area

Can you imagine sleeping on the ground, having an empty stomach and listening to your children crying because they are hungry. Can you imagine your tiny home with muddy floors filled with mosquitoes and flies and then on top of all that, dealing with the rainy and cold season and not being able to escape the rain coming through your “roof”. This is life for families in the slums of Nepal.

IMG_7644CAPTIVATING provided 110 tarpaulins to families and children in a critically poor slum area in Kathmandu. Rajani who is a 3 Angels Nepal Aid Worker asked us to pass on the following words to those who supported this initiative. “These families are so grateful. The support you have given them and the joy on their faces when they saw me [arrive with the tarpaulins] has made this experience incredible. You would be filled with tears if you could just see the light and smile on the faces of the children and their parents, after receiving the tarpaulins for their shacks. Because of you all the children and their parents have one less worry of a leaking roof”.

These tarpaulins bring some hope to an otherwise hopeless situation. Our congratulations to Rajani and the 3 Angel’s team for helping those most in need.

While Janani (not her real name) delivered her baby at the public hospital, she was found to be infected with COVID-19. She was then kept in isolation while her husband was unable to see her and their newborn for two weeks. Due to the medical expenses, all their family's savings were depleted.

Captivating - thank you for helping us keep warm

I work in remote villages where Captivating has helped to provide blankets and warm clothes. I work for 3 Angels Nepal (3AN) and it was my job to distribute these blankets and shawls to remote earthquake affected places. These women and their babies are living with just tin over their heads since the April earthquake and are now open to the severe winter elements.
