Our Manila Slum Program (MSP) funds schooling for children from vulnerable communities in the capital of the Philippines, Metro Manila. Beneficiaries receive monthly financial assistance, and their parents attend regular meetings and seminars organized by us.

The meetings are for checking in with parents regarding their children’s performances, to monitor our program’s progress. On the other hand, our seminars are designed for parents as the topics cover various pressing community issues like Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Parenting Effective Service (PES) as guided by DSWD.

Three Filipino women making booklets
Mothers preparing OSAEC booklets

This season, our local center is busy! We have Freda, one of the mothers from Ronas Garden (our first community) help us print OSAEC booklets for distribution. Laila is training two mothers to sew, while Trizia and Kayla just finished setting up a computer to be used by our student beneficiaries for their school research and job hunt.

As we coordinated with Carly for her donations, she also shared this: “All the women were really happy to give. In fact, one of my friends’ daughters, who is 14, decided to give all of her pay from her job for that week. So it will be nice to be able to show her what she has helped with. I think she could relate knowing some girls would be her age.”

Witnessing our beneficiaries pay it forward is truly moving, sparking a transformative chain reaction of kindness and hope.
