We started the fourth quarter of the year with new partnerships! Just last September, we formally sealed our partnership with Brgy. Paltok, Quezon City to extend our anti-OSAEC efforts all around the country. We were warmly accommodated by the barangay captain and the barangay’s child protection leader, Ms. Grace Rada.

If it weren’t for Ms. Rada, we would not have sealed this partnership. Other than being a leader, she is also an active parent volunteer at Bayanihan Elementary School, where we previously conducted a seminar. There, she shared that OSAEC cases are rising in her community, which made her push for stronger interventions and awareness. When she heard our seminar last time, she knew she needed our help in their community. She got the barangay involved and ensured that child protection efforts would be prioritized.

To strengthen our OSAEC efforts, we will be returning to Bayanihan Elementary School to host another seminar. The previous one was for students, but this time—for teachers. Why? Because teachers play a crucial role in preventing this crime. It is they who can notice a child’s vulnerability and can intervene when necessary. We taught them how to spot a victim and how to report the perpetrators. This way, children will be protected both in school and at home.

Brgy. Paltok has three schools in its community, and we cannot wait to spread the word by reaching out to all of them as we protect one child at a time.
