Yangkartso, 17, lives with his brother and mother. Her father died due to an accident at work when she was still a child. Her mother then sought jobs so she could continue supporting them and send them to school. However, when her brother fell ill, their family's financial difficulty increased and she had to drop out of school.
"I've never been to school due to our family's financial condition. Because of this, it's very difficult for me to find a stable job. My family depends on me that's why I need to be strong."
Despite her good grades, it was still unlikely for Lhamo to proceed to college. Her mother had difficulty sending her to school so she decided to stay at home and help out with the household chores.
I only went to school for three years as a little girl because my parents couldn’t afford to send me anymore. Now that I have a son, I know it is my duty to provide for him but it is not easy when I have no education or skills. I am Jorbakyid and this is my story.

Quijangtso first applied in the Husky Energy Tailoring Skills Program for Women in 2019 with the recommendation of the project coordinator and teachers. Faced with a lot of challenges, Quijangtso did not back down and continued to persevere.
Puyuxia, 19, comes from a rural area. She lives with her grandfather who raised her by himself ever since she was a little girl. Puyuxia's father died in an accident while her mother left them in search of a better life.
