Young Woman Survivor Decides for Her Future

During her stay in the Blessed House, Mae (name changed for protection and privacy) was able to go to school. Though she was older than most of her classmates, she persevered and even finished a vocational course on cooking while also attending formal school.

Ofelia

Everyday, Ofelia sets out in the afternoon to sell boiled duck eggs, or more commonly known in the Philippines as "balut", together with other snacks to fill her neighbors. She does this diligently to provide for her four children, while her husband works as a construction worker.

Anti-OSAEC Awareness Campaign to Protect Children with Special Needs

In one online awareness campaign, a teacher for children with special needs shared that she received a report from a neighbor that a child with special needs is being abused in her own home.

Unfortunately, children with special needs can be more prone to exploitation because they cannot speak up or defend themselves.

Preparation for Reintegration

The ultimate goal for survivors of human trafficking and online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC) at The Blessed Project is for them to be reintegrated to the community, or if possible, to their families. The main challenges for this process to happen are the unpreparedness of relatives to accept and care for the trainees, unsuitable environment within the community, and the slow legal process for those with ongoing cases.

Adelinda's Business is Recovering

Adelinda, married and a mother of four, used to work as a manicurist and went from one house to another to earn. Her husband on the other hand is a farmer. After receiving her loan, she was able to build their own store.
