Standing on the top of the Gesar mountain one can see a little red spot, which is our school, Seng Girls Vocational Training School. People have said our school looks like a monastery, because in our Tibetan areas, most of the temples and monasteries are painted red. Our school’s buildings are all painted red in the middle of October this year, but they weren’t always red.
This month [July 2017], three girls from Project Eden who have been studying at the School of Electronics and Technology of Dongguan, have finished all their school-based courses and will be starting a one-year internship after this summer on-track to graduate in June 2018. Through the Captivating Project Eden schooling program, we have been thrilled to see their growth and development over the years thanks to lots of hard work by them, as well as amazing support from the team at Project Eden. Our thanks also to their dedicated sponsors and supporters, and of course Dockpo and the SGVTS team where the girls first got their chance at a new life several years ago now. We hope you enjoy Dechen's story:
Children's Day is the 1st of June each year and is dedicated to raising awareness about children's rights and well being. At Captivating, EVERY DAY is Children's Day! Every day of year we are focused on making the world brighter for children. Together, we are reaching out for a brighter future for girls who need our help. Seng Girls Vocational Training School is one such place where girls live, love, learn and grow.
A new year, a new semester. The 2017 school year is brand new and full of exciting promises for the future. Although there isn’t any winter vacation at the Seng Girls Vocational School, we are excited to start the 2017 school year.
