“Although life in the countryside is free and happy, economic development here cannot keep up with the rhythm outside. The financial pressure is increasing every year, and sometimes life gets very difficult and confusing for me. I am Datintso. I am 22, and this is my story.
I already knew how to cook before but the dishes I could prepare were limited. Fortunately, I got the opportunity to improve my culinary skills when I was able to join the My First Job Assistant Chef Program. The teacher taught me many culinary dishes, and I have made remarkable improvement. Even my family is excited for the dish I prepare every day. With their support, I am motivated to learn more.
Thank you for your support and help. Not only was I able to strengthen my cooking skills but I also improved my confidence. This training is the most fulfilling experience I have ever had. I also believe that my future will be different because of this. I hope to be a role model for my family, especially for my children, in having the motivation to pursue their interests and be able to have a career.”
Datintso is one of the 120 women who took intensive training under the My First Job: Assistant Chef Program in 2019 – thanks to ZURU for underwriting this project.
