OMY: Mose to Become A Doctor
Mose, a bright and determined student, dreams of becoming a doctor after witnessing her illiterate parents face discrimination at a hospital.
It’s truly priceless to witness the reaction of a girl from an underprivileged family when she is told that she will receive support for senior high school. The Captivating ONE MORE YEAR Scholarship Program aims to do just that – keep a girl in school for at least one more year, and hopefully longer. It’s well-known that every additional year a child remains in school exponentially increases their ability to live a better life. They can earn more money, become better parents, and make better choices for themselves and their families.
Hai Lai Wu Ji is one of the many students who are able to continue her studies through the One More Year Scholarship Program. She’s a student at Xi De Wa Er High School. Her family lives in a small village in Lianghekou, Xide County, and there are five siblings, with three still going to school. Her mom is a farmer, and her dad works away from home to pay for school and living costs. Going to high school brought more expenses, especially with her brother’s wedding. The scholarship really helped her family, letting Hai Lai Wu Ji focus on school without worrying too much about money.
“Entering high school was a dream come true, as it meant a chance to go to university and shape my future. At Wa Er High School, I found a supportive homeroom teacher, friendly classmates, and caring teachers. My interactions with them have transformed me. Previously reserved, I now engage happily with classmates and confidently seek guidance from teachers. My school life has become more fulfilling.
I want to sincerely thank you for your timely support and encouragement. I carry your kindness with me, committed to studying hard and pursuing a university education to change my life. Wishing you good health, success, and all the best once again!”
