“My name is Pengmaozhuoma. I am from Hualong County, Qinghai Province and I’m a freshman at Qinghai Normal University. I am majored in Primary School Education. My teacher Gongtaiji recommended me to attend the Capacity Training for first semester in 2015 supported by Captivating International. The reason I am so excited to be able to participate in the Capacity Training is that I want to learn skills in project management to be able to help poor families and children like my own family and I also want to improve my skills in organizing and management that I cannot get from school.”
I am spending one month at Shamtse Charity for my internship. I hope more young girls like myself can get the chance to participate in after-hours training like this. I am gaining experience in project management while growing my communication skills and organizing skills. 25 university level students from rural, poor families in Western China, participated in the 2017 PCH Capacity-Building Leadership program. Their families have already sacrificed so much to get them to university and are quite possibly in debt for the rest of their lives.

This is the 4th year that PCH and Captivating have partnered together to bring special training to university students in China. 24 students recently graduated the PCH Capacity Training program over a 5 month period, learning skills in project management, implementation and reporting. These students now understand the importance of giving back to their communities and are equipped to be able to see the needs in their communities and have the capacity to make a difference.
