Lijia Village Primary School has 40 children attending. Most of these children have parents who are illiterate and are very poor and do not understand the importance of education. The only books these children have to read are their school text books. This environment is not nurturing children to have a desire to learn and to read.
500 books arrived at Lijia Village Primary School recently and the children were thrilled. These books were filled with colour, pictures and words that the children were very keen to lean. These books are stored in lovely bookcases that the villagers have taken pride to make for this special occasion. The children are very excited to read these books and the motivation to learn has dramatically increased.
