In the last quarter of 2025, our Kathmandu branch conducted multiple Anti-Human Trafficking Monitoring Stations in various urban poor communities inside and outside the capital. Places include Jadibuti Ward 32 in Kathmandu, Suryabinayak Municipality, Ward No. 3 of Bhaktapur District, and the Lokanthali area of Bhaktapur District.

Each awareness program was attended by 101 women aged 16 to 50 years old. They were a mix of locals and migrant workers from different castes and industries. Each event was attended by 33-35 participants who learned about human trafficking and transportation, domestic violence, sexual violence, misuse of social media, and labor exploitation.

We regularly conduct this kind of awareness program due to these communities being high-risk areas for human trafficking. As they say, prevention is better than cure, or perhaps—awareness is better than rescue. The participants express their thanks for learning new ways to protect themselves and say that they would use their knowledge to warn others about this heinous crime that is unfortunately so common in their villages.
