We believe that preventing human trafficking starts with awareness. During the first quarter of the year, we conducted a Safe Foreign Employment Awareness program in Kathmandu as part of the Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Program.

Poverty-stricken Nepali communities are a hotspot for human traffickers to lure vulnerable and desperate job seekers. In response to this, we organized the program designed for students in Koteshwor, Kathmandu City—who are preparing for foreign employment. We were able to reach 26 prospective migrant workers in this specific activity.

The program focused on promoting safe migration practices, legal procedures, and potential risks of exploitation and trafficking. Our program taught them ways to correctly verify recruitment agencies and review employment contracts before departure.

After the program, we have received positive feedback on its relevance, timing, and effectiveness, encouraging us to spread more awareness against human trafficking.

During the same quarter, we also reached Changunarayan Municipality, with 20 female participants, and Jadibuti, with 10 attendees.

Because of your continued support, we were able to reach these vulnerable communities and help protect them through awareness.
