Tserang can now tell her daughter and grandchildren about health and hygiene

223 women have just received vital information about health and hygiene in remote Western China. Each woman also received medicine and hygiene products along with a medical checkup which, in some cases, was their very first medical checkup. This is one of ten locations where Captivating is supporting Qinghai registered Shamtse Charity implement the Captivating Healthy Village Program – a program that will bring health education and support to 3,500 women and their families.

Tserang on the right with Carrie, our program manager

Tserang is one of the women from this township who attended the Captivating Healthy Village program. Tserang is 72 years of age. Tserang and her husband have one daughter and two grandchildren. “I have never been to the hospital for a checkup,” Tserang tells our project manager Carrie. “I have never even heard about some of the infectious diseases the doctor talked about and how dangerous they are. I’ve learnt how to prevent these diseases as well as how to best care for babies and young children. Although my daughter and son-in-law were unable to attend, I am grateful that I was able to learn so much. I will be going home with information and practical solutions to teach my family. This is so important for everyone to know, I’m glad that I can pass this on to my daughter and grandchildren. Thank you for caring about us and coming to our village to share all this with us.”

Thank you to Altria & CAF America for making it possible for this remote township to be part of the Captivating Healthy Village Program. Lives have been changed because of you.
