Dari’s Beautiful Creations

Dari grew up in difficult living conditions – being raised alone by her mother, and having to drop out of school in third grade to take care of her mother after falling seriously ill.

Now with her own family, Dari still faces life’s hurdles. Their family depends primarily on her husband’s income for herding sheep and cattle. Meanwhile, Dari stays mostly at home to take care of her elderly in-laws and her child.

She entered the Husky Energy Tailoring Skills Program for Women in July 2019. She started her internship in a garment factory in November and finally completed her training in January. Despite not being able to finish formal school, she’s grateful to have acquired skills in making clothes. “Now I’m working as a tailor at home, and I picked up a job in a clothing store and make all kinds of Tibetan clothes according to their requirements.” Below are some of her amazing creations.

Dari is one of the 24 women who completed the four-month training program in November 2019. Thanks to Husky Energy for underwriting this project.
