Jing and Jei’s Joint Effort To Move Forward
Through our Manila Slum Program, Jei returned to school and graduated, while her mother, Jing, completed a cookery course and is now seeking stable work.
After several months of another strict lockdown in Manila, public schools are getting ready once again for class module distribution. This allows us to reach out to more students despite schools being closed.
Recently, we were able to distribute OSAEC (online sexual abuse and exploitation of children) information booklets to 520 elementary school students through Honor 1000’s partnership with a public school located in one of the identified high risk areas in Metro Manila.
The team also conducts random monitoring activities wherein they visit houses of parents and kids who received the booklets to check if they are working on the materials, as well as discuss any questions they might have.
