OMY: Mose to Become A Doctor
Mose, a bright and determined student, dreams of becoming a doctor after witnessing her illiterate parents face discrimination at a hospital.
We celebrated two New Year’s this month with the welcoming of 2014 and the year of the horse! We didn’t hear a single firework on January 1st but on January 31st, the air was thick with the aftermath of the evening’s firework celebrations. We had a big barbecue under the glow of the moonlit sky and our girls were able to watch t.v. programs from their hometown. Their giggles and laughter echoed throughout the night and we joyfully welcomed the New Year. The following morning we were greeted by a sweet group of locals who came to make dumplings with us! We made a vegetarian dumpling filled with egg and an onion like vegetable and then another filled with pork and veggies. They were delicious and the process of making them surrounded by dear friends made the day so special. The girls are having a wonderful time enjoying a break from their studies and spending time relaxing. We hope that the year of the horse brings blessings to you all!
