Because Everybody’s Health Matters

The CAPTIVATING Healthy Village Program has once again started rolling out through remote regions of Western China. Last year’s program resulted in such a positive turn out by locals and repeated requests by local organizers that we keep the program running. So, here we go again.

Oilmen and Captivating LogosThis years medical presentations, starting this weekend, will take place in nine township locations. People from 89 villages surrounding these townships will attend these 2 day presentations. Additionally, our professional and qualified team will present to girls from a large middle school. In total, over 3,000 people will be trained on health topics such as general hygiene, caring for your infant, women’s health issues, infectious diseases and HIV/AIDS prevention.

Attendees will also be offered a free medical check-up along with hygiene tips and take-away personal care items. Last year, of the 400 women who requested a medical examination, over 90% had minor to serious medical issues identified. Many women had already given birth to a child, and the birth would have been at home, delivered by her mother or a neighbour; no doctor, no health check.  We believe that this health awareness program is bringing much needed, relevant information to people who are most at risk of health issues.

Our thanks to the Captivating Annual Charity Auction in Shenzhen, and the 27th Annual Oilmans Golf Open run in Macau this past month for funding this education and awareness program.  Thank you for partnering with Captivating to bring vital information to these remote locations. We look forward to updating the Captivating world about the results after the training concludes in the new year.
