My Internship with Captivating International

by Annisha Sidhu

When I first arrived in Shenzhen, I was overwhelmed by how hectic and busy the city was. After being excited for so long, it felt so surreal to actually be here. After graduating from university in the UK, I was really excited to start my internship, and Captivating International didn’t disappoint. From the moment I stepped foot in the office, I was made to feel like part of the team. I had the warmest welcome and felt so comfortable with everyone straight away.

I also came at the best possible time, right before the biggest event on the Captivating calendar; The Annual Charity Auction. One reason this was so great was because it meant I had the pleasure of meeting the Captivating staff from the Australian office who were in China for the event; Andrew, Julie and Daniella. Each of them were so lovely to me, I wish I’d had the chance to work with them more. Arriving just before The Annual Charity Auction also meant I was busy from the start and was able to get a glimpse of the time and energy that went into creating the event; the Captivating staff and volunteer committee put in countless hours to make the auction a success. I’m so happy I got to witness the final product; it was an absolutely amazing night!

My stay in Shenzhen was so enjoyable. This has a lot to do with working with such a great team of people; Tracy, Emily, Vivian and Francine, thank you for my making my stay in Shenzhen a much better experience. The amount of hard work you put into Captivating is inspiring! I’m going to miss you all a lot but will definitely come and visit when I’m back.

Thank you Annisha for sharing your skills and talents with us. It was a joy to have you as part of the team. You were always professional and brought a positive attitude to the workplace during the 7 weeks you were with Captivating.
