A Working Vacation

Winter vacation, for the vast majority of students is a good time to rest, sleep late, and go shopping. But for Eden girls, the 20 days of work in a Dongguan Electronics manufacturing plant was definitely a brand new challenge. The girls spent 10-12 hours a day in the repetitive line of work. This was something that they have never ever experienced before.

A Future For Cheyang

Cheyang now has a second set of parents who do for her what her birth parents are not able to do – thanks to Paul and Susan. Cheyang’s dream was to become a nurse. Her dream has now begun and she is studying nursing at a vocational school. Her dream now is that when she graduates in 3 years time, she will be able to help her community while earning a good income to support herself and her family.

70% increase in income for 96 families - FOREVER!

Now in our 3rd year of Greenhouse solutions in partnership with our wonderful friends at GPA Global, a family who receives one of our greenhouses will have the capacity to increase their cash income by an estimated RMB4,000 a year (70%). This is SIGNIFICANT, and results in many children going on to complete their schooling who would otherwise be rural school drop-outs.

Breaking the cycle of disease in A Zhuang Village

43 village women have recently had the opportunity to attend a one day training program in their village of A Zhuang, which covered women’s health issues, infectious diseases and childcare. Many of these women have been living with various health concerns for many years.
