Kanzhe is a single mom to her 3 year old son. As a girl she only had the opportunity to go to school until grade 6. Because of her lack of education, very few opportunities were available to her to support herself and her son. In July 2019, she joined the My First Job Assistant Chef Program and is now fully employed.

Dari grew up in difficult living conditions - being raised alone by her mother, and having to drop out of school in third grade to take care of her mother after falling seriously ill. Now with her own family, Dari still faces life's hurdles. Their family depends primarily on her husband's income for herding sheep and cattle. My Health, My Family, Our Safety Awareness Program traveled through Western China with a team of medical professionals. We were able to visit 11 villages and cater to the health needs of over 3,000 men and women.

Many of the families in my village don't understand how to take care of their health. I have children and grandchildren and I will share with them what I learned from the doctors and nurses during this program. Thank you for organizing such an activity."

Now that she has a family of her own, both Tserang and her husband work hard to send their kids to school. From digging up caterpillar fungus to sell, to working in construction sites, regardless of the weather, they would stay out working all day. This causes Tserang to experience back pain frequently. But because of their unstable income, she wouldn't dare spend money to go to the hospital and have a health checkup.
