At Captivating, we work mostly to create genuine options for single mothers and out-of-school girls. And right now, we need your help. Over the past few months, our project teams have identified over 60 girls from remote locations who dropped out of school more than a year ago.

Winter vacation, for the vast majority of students is a good time to rest, sleep late, and go shopping. But for Eden girls, the 20 days of work in a Dongguan Electronics manufacturing plant was definitely a brand new challenge. The girls spent 10-12 hours a day in the repetitive line of work. This was something that they have never ever experienced before.

Hualdntso has never been to school but she understands the value of education and wants to be able to send her daughter to school and also university. Hualdnotso’s dream for her daughter is that she will be well educated and able to get a good job and be self-sustainable.

Cheyang now has a second set of parents who do for her what her birth parents are not able to do – thanks to Paul and Susan. Cheyang’s dream was to become a nurse. Her dream has now begun and she is studying nursing at a vocational school. Her dream now is that when she graduates in 3 years time, she will be able to help her community while earning a good income to support herself and her family.

43 village women have recently had the opportunity to attend a one day training program in their village of A Zhuang, which covered women’s health issues, infectious diseases and childcare. Many of these women have been living with various health concerns for many years.

On the way back home all we talked about was what happened in the rolling place and we compared pain, bumps and bruises. When we see the rainbow, we forget what we have experienced before. The same is true of life; we fall and then get up. No matter what we do, we cannot be afraid of failure. Only through personal practice and hard work can we taste the joy of success! Roller skating left us so happy. Laughter is like a language and without any translation can move each other's heart.

A new year, a new semester. The 2017 school year is brand new and full of exciting promises for the future. Although there isn’t any winter vacation at the Seng Girls Vocational School, we are excited to start the 2017 school year.

This is the 4th year that PCH and Captivating have partnered together to bring special training to university students in China. 24 students recently graduated the PCH Capacity Training program over a 5 month period, learning skills in project management, implementation and reporting. These students now understand the importance of giving back to their communities and are equipped to be able to see the needs in their communities and have the capacity to make a difference.
