Our One Hope Microfinance Program’s main mission is to protect vulnerable groups from the threat of sexual exploitation by providing loans to micro entrepreneurs. This way, they have the chance to elevate their living standards and foster positive change in their communities. To avail of the loan, each beneficiary will be a part of a fellowship group where they must commit to community-building activities and weekly payments. They will start at PHP 6,000 (USD 102) and will increase by increments of PHP 3,000 (USD 51) after full payment. The maximum amount loanable is Php 30,000 (USD 508).

Visiting the clients.

We are aware of the impact we create in our communities through feedback and data. But oftentimes, we find ourselves wondering how different we are from other organizations that also visit the communities to which we extend our helping hand.

Just recently, our team visited Bataan to listen to the stories of our former Microfinance clients. There was a lot of nostalgia in how each one began, which challenges they encountered, and the gratitude they felt after seeing real change in their lives. Some of the mothers even shed tears of joy as they proudly shared the fruits of their hard work.

What makes us stand out from the others? The care and respect they experienced from our staff. It warms our hearts to hear that not only did we provide materials for them to succeed, but we also made them feel heard and seen. Our staff not only worked, but also touched the humanity of our partners and beneficiaries. In return, they were able to share their trust and loyalty to us, making lifelong connections that cannot be easily replaced.

As we headed back to Manila, a bigger spark of newfound appreciation towards our staff ignited. To lead and work in kindness is truly priceless.
