OMY: Mose to Become A Doctor
Mose, a bright and determined student, dreams of becoming a doctor after witnessing her illiterate parents face discrimination at a hospital.
On the 2nd of April, 500 students, parents and teachers from the Shenzhen College of International Education (SCIE) walked 10km in just 2 hours to raise funds for Captivating. Together, they raised over RMB109,818. We think you are all amazing!
In partnership with Captivating, the Shenzhen Charity Federation, and registered grassroots charity partners, SCIE are supporting programs aimed at locating girls in remote poor villages of Western China – girls who have already dropped out of school – and seeing them progress in vocational schooling opportunities. SCIE’s funds will support these lucky girls for up to three years of schooling support – enough to enable them to “reach out for a better tomorrow“.
Our thanks to the whole SCIE team – wonderful teachers, inspirational leaders, amazing parents, and of course exceptional and motivated students. The world seems a lot brighter today, especially for some girls in Western China.
