OMY: Wu Jingmei Now Studies Animal Medicine!
Our beneficiary, Wu Jingmei, wrote to share how the One More Year Scholarship Program has brought new hope and opportunities to her life.
Yangkartso, 17, lives with his brother and mother. Her father died due to an accident at work when she was still a child. Her mother then sought jobs so she could continue supporting them and send them to school.
One day, Yangkartso’s brother fainted and was brought to the hospital, where they learned that he has epilepsy. Her mother spent a lot of time taking care of her brother and his medical needs. Her brother’s condition continued to worsen while their financial burden increased, forcing both Yangkartso and her brother to drop out of school.
“I really wanted to go back to school, but I knew that it would be difficult for my family especially my mother,” Yangkartso shared.
“Now, I am living my dream in studying Pre-school Teaching. My main subjects are theory of teaching, general psychology, child development psychology, music and dance. I made good progress on my academic performance this semester. I participated in the campus song and dance competition and won an excellent award this semester.
I like campus life very much. Every day is memorable. I chose this profession since I have always had a dream of being a qualified teacher. Because of your support, I am getting closer to my dream. I cherish this opportunity.”
Thank you to the amazing support of Zuru who fund 50% of this life-changing program.

My world is not limited to a small mountain village. I want to reach a distance I have never reached. I want to go to the top of the mountain to overlook the world and blow the night wind on the top of the mountain.
