OMY: Mose to Become A Doctor
Mose, a bright and determined student, dreams of becoming a doctor after witnessing her illiterate parents face discrimination at a hospital.
Hi! I’m Jike Aya from Meigu High School, Sichuan Province.
I’m very thankful for your subsidization, and I want to tell you about my studying and life.
In my family, my brothers do not have stable jobs. They have a low education background, only finishing junior high school, because my parents didn’t have money to afford them to go to school. Now they seem to put all the hope on my younger sister and me. My sister is currently a junior student. When every term begins, I can see my mother working so hard to earn our fees; but I feel helpless. I hated my father’s look when he came home every night drunk. I hope to improve the terrible family condition through my perseverance.
One of the teachers I adore is my English teacher, Teacher Luo. It is she who gave me the power to continue on during the most perplexing and challenging period of mine. Quoting poetry from Chinese, “Till the end of life a silkworm keeps spinning silk. Till burning itself out a candle goes on lighting us.” Teacher Luo is like the silkworm and candle who continually gives care and love to me, as one of her students.
Before receiving your subsidization, my mom constantly worries that I don’t have enough money to afford transportation every time I go home during our off days from school because my school is far from my home. Luckily, no such worry exists now, and I could even buy them some food and help with the alimony of my sister. I’m sincerely grateful for your help and the love you gave me; if I have a good prospect in the future, I will be a helpful and kind person like you because it can change many people’s lives. Thank you. Wish you enjoy good health and everything goes well with your work.
